Description

The Orion Molecular Cloud Complex is located about 1,500 light-years away from Earth and is visible in the constellation Orion. It contains several sub-regions, including the famous Orion Nebula, which is a hotbed of star formation. The Orion Nebula is the closest region of massive star formation to Earth and is a popular target for astronomers studying the birth and evolution of stars. The Orion Molecular Cloud Complex also contains a number of other star-forming regions, including the Horsehead Nebula, the Flame Nebula, and the Running Man Nebula.
The Taurus Molecular Cloud is located about 450 light-years away from Earth and is visible in the constellation Taurus. It is also a region of active star formation and contains several sub-regions, including the Taurus-Auriga complex, which is home to numerous young stars and protostars. The Taurus Molecular Cloud is notable for its high concentration of pre-main sequence stars, which are stars that have not yet begun hydrogen fusion in their cores.
